Poetry and Creative Writing Workshops that inspire us to slow down and contemplate the world around us. We’ll read or listen to carefully chosen poems and develop responses with a selection of colourful arts activities. This leads into a variety of guided and free writing exercises. The writing process can help illuminate feelings and clarify thoughts, and work can then be shared with others. These workshops strengthen the connection to our authentic selves, to each other, and also to the flow of life through the seasons.
I’ve led closed groups for the Ledbury Poetry Festival Community Programme since 2016. This work includes Poetry and Creative Writing sessions with West Mercia CRC for women on probation, and at Grange Court in Leominster for adults returning to education. In 2018 I worked with Rose Tinted Rags and at Hereford Community Farm in Breinton. Currently the Tuesday Group at Rose Tinted Rags are preparing their poems to read at this year’s Community Showcase at the Burgage Hall in Ledbury on July 8th. This year I’ve also enjoyed leading a monthly Creative Writing Group for residents at Ross Court Care Home.
In 2016 the Ledbury Poetry Festival Community Programme underwent an external review. This involved workshops I held at Grange Court with About Face Theatre Company:

The leaders are an outstanding team of creative practitioners – poets and writers – who are inspiring, dedicated and enthusiastic…”
